If I remember correctly, when compiling PolyVox you have the option to have it include Boost. My question is what exactly does PolyVox need Boost for now that it's starting to incorporate features from C++11?

For a while now we have have replaced all usage of Boost with the equivalent C++11 features. Until recently, if you wanted to build with pre-VS2010 compilers on Windows, Boost could be pulled in to fill the gap but it's my understanding that on Windows David is now requiring a newer version of VC++.

In summary, we don't use Boost anywhere now but we do require a more modern compiler.

Thank you for the clarification, I recommended PolyVox to a buddy of mine and when he saw it used boost he immediately turned green. ;)

I don't know why there exist such stupidity called "Boost haters". If somebody hates Boost why not drop C++ as well and go for ASM? This is stupid. Boost is here to fill many, many gaps and to provide features that help a lot in most cases. I use boost for threads, chrono, date/times, serialization, mathematics and so on. Ogre uses it, too. but anyway... I'm happy with it.

Also, I do not talk about removing boost as dependency, I taks about somebody turning green from seeing boost's name. So no offence intended :)
