Were the SurfaceExtractor bindings added after the 1348 snapshot?
If so, which version?
It looks like they were added with version 1366:
Code:
Revision: 1366
Author: esuvs
Date: 21:59:21, 18 January 2011
Message:
More SWIG bindings.
----
Added : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/Array.i
Added : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/CubicSurfaceExtractor.i
Added : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/CubicSurfaceExtractorWithNormals.i
Added : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/MeshDecimator.i
Modified : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/PolyVoxCore.i
Added : /PolyVox/trunk/library/bindings/SubArray.i
But if I were you I'd go a bit later... revision 1432 is probably a good choice. But after that the Python bindings are definitely broken.
Also, I notice that only the CubicSurfaceExtractor appears to have bindings, not the smooth version.

There is mention of some issues with the generation of meshes, is there anything I should be aware of? Is this version of PolyVox stable enough for usage in a commercial project?
Are you doing Minecraft style terrain? In general it works pretty well. The latest version is significantly better, but it doesn't have working Python bindings. So you'll have to wait for us to update them, of do it yourself.
And yes, there are people attempting to use PolyVox in commercial projects. To my knowledge none of these have been finished yet.
