Post subject:  3d model problem (poly2vox)

Hey,

Lately ive made some 3d models in cinema 4d and added a texture to it and exported it as a .3ds file then I open poly2vox and enter the name of the file .3ds. when I check out how it looks like using slab6 I find the model is just a white shape and dont know where the texture is.

after some research I got informed I have to "bake" the model in C4D. but im not sure how it works. I managed to bake it and it gave me a .png file ( can select others )

So my question is: how can I get a textured 3d model? so I can put it on poly2vox.

If anybody out here knows how to get this done please reply :)

cheers!

Chris

I'm afraid you've got the wrong forum. This website is for 'PolyVox' (the voxel terrain library) not 'poly2vox' (Ken Silverman's model-to-voxel conversion tool). I'm not sure where you should go for poly2vox support since Ken's official forum closed.

I've used poly2vox in the past. You should try different file export formats and see if that helps. IIRC, .kv6 and kvx files will have colors applied... You can also use SLAB6 to convert between the formats.
