Note that it is a few years old and I don't necessarily stand by (or even remember?!) what I wrote, but it's a starting point.

The approach used in Cubiquity was more advanced and quite horribly complex, but did give nice control over the blending: http://www.cubiquity.net/cubiquity-for- ... l_set.html

Again I'm not sure I'd recommend it... you'll have to do some research and do read the (limited) PolyVox docs on texturing.
